Well, no, I've never been to Africa, but I'm sure I've got malaria!

This particular cold/flu/whatever, like many others, has given me problems with my tonsils. Particularly the right one. I was never really surprised that it might do that; my family has abnormally large tonsils to begin with, so when they swell, it's to be expected that the now monstrous adenoids would get in the way of things. It actually hurts to turn my head too far to the right. This time round, though, I heard on completely seperate occasions from people who don't know each other about how they had painful problems with a tonsil(s), and had it looked at. These people had a periotonsil abcess (or as my mother's doctor called it when she was young, Old-Fashioned Quinsy) a quite nasty thing that's really quite icky, apparently. Now as the days pass, and my only complaint is in my right tonsil, I'm convinced more and more that the sharp pain I feel there is an abcess.Do any of you know how to do a tonsilectomy? For free? Safely?

No medical insurance?

I'm sure I have coverage under my parents' plan, but I don't feel like going to a doctor. She'll just tell me I had a cold/flu/whatever and send me home, having charged me.

I'm not sure, but I think it involves lots of ice cream.
